My profession is tourism manager | Choice of profession. how to choose the right profession

1. What is the name of your profession (position)? My profession is called tourism manager. Basically, I work with several areas: Egypt, Turkey, UAE and exotic countries. 2. What is your job and what are your responsibilities? My work is very versatile. The main responsibilities include: selection and development of the tour, preparation of documents for submission to the Embassy, work with foreign partners. But the most important thing in my profession is communication with clients, namely: to understand their needs, talk about the pros and cons of the tour, the country, consider the financial capabilities of the client and provide an independent choice. You also have to memorize huge amounts of information and combine a variety of recreation options. 3. Describe your work day. The working day starts at 9 am, but it can end at 9 pm. This is especially true in the summer and winter seasons, these are the busiest months. The flow of customers is very large, because these months have the largest number of vacations and holidays. Each client needs to pay special attention, to interest, suggest, choose the right tour. 4. How comfortable are your working conditions (all day outside, or in the office with a cup of coffee)? I work in a small but very comfortable office. Our company takes care of its employees, so all working conditions are at a good level. In our office there are air conditioners, and heaters (if necessary), and coffee machines. We also have an excellent reception area where you can invite a client and discuss all further conditions with him over a cup of coffee. 5 What do you like most about your job? Most of the working time in a travel agency is spent communicating with clients. This is what I like. A closed and taciturn person will not be able to sell a single ticket. You need to be cheerful, attentive, charming and be able to listen to the client. I also have a great opportunity to meet and communicate with people from other countries, thereby increasing the level of self-development. 6. What do you dislike most about your job? I often have to be nervous, I need to be aware of the affairs of vacationers, whether everything is in order with them, because I am responsible for their rest. Irregular working hours - tourists can call in the middle of the night and ask to dispel their doubts about the chosen tour. 7. Describe your team, what kind of people work with you? As I wrote earlier, our office is not big, there are three other people who work with me, with whom I am very friendly. They have become a second family to me, because I spend most of my day with them. We are all practically the same age, so we have many common interests and we all love our work very much. I wouldn't change my team for anything. 8. What human qualities, in your opinion, are most important in your business? Communication skills, professionalism, the ability to quickly resolve any situation without losing the working rhythm. Good memory, high degree of personal organization, patience plus fluency in foreign languages etc.are essential. 9. What education is required to get your position? Many firms are interested in graduates, and since our profession is in demand, almost every university has a tourism specialty. 10. If it's not a secret, what is your salary level (is it enough to write whether you are satisfied or not)? My salary consists of a flat rate, which is not very high, and a percentage of travel package sales. And since I work a lot, my salary is also big, it completely suits me. 11. Do you have the opportunity to evaluate your work on a five-point scale, what grade would you give? For me, this is the best profession and I rate it at 5. But I can say that this job is not suitable for everyone, because not every person is able to withstand such loads and great responsibility. 12. Work gives me additional opportunities (here is everything that work gives you except money, from self-expression and communication with interesting people to the opportunity to visit different countries). I can say that the tourism industry is one of the most profitable and promising. Firstly, I have the opportunity to visit many countries, constantly discover new horizons for myself and share my knowledge with others, and secondly, I make good money, especially during the holiday seasons. And finally, it is very nice to see the smiling faces of rested people who come up to you with words of gratitude for a well-organized vacation. 13. What do you think we have not included in the plan and what else would you like to share with us? I would just like to wish every person that he would find himself in life and do only the thing that really brings pleasure. Characteristics from the place of work (the sample characteristics provided on my blog are most suitable for a marketer or secretary, assistant manager, office manager). 0
