Profession caster of metals and alloys on injection molding machines | Choice of profession. how to choose the right profession

1. What is the name of your profession (position)? Caster on injection molding machines. 2. What is your job and what are your responsibilities? My job is to make castings of various parts. The duties of the caster include: managing and setting up the casting machine, visual control over the quality of the resulting casting, adding metal ingots to the melting furnace, monitoring the temperature of the metal melt, removing slag from the furnace, cleaning the machine and workplace, and, most importantly, compliance with safety regulations . 3. What education is required to get your position? You need secondary specialized and higher education, depending on the level you would like to achieve. Due to the lack of foundry workers, some factories are recruiting apprentices with a secondary education. After a month of training, you are assigned the second category. There are six in total. Subsequently, you can improve your qualifications by passing examinations to increase the rank. 4. Describe your working day. My working day begins with checking and warming up the casting machine, and welding metal in the furnace. Then you need to take the first castings for dimensional control to technologists. The day flies by unnoticed, for the manufacture of more and more new parts. We usually work according to the schedule day, night, two days at home. After a twelve-hour shift, I go to the shower with a sense of reverence. 5. How comfortable are your working conditions (all day outside, or in the office with a cup of coffee)? Conditions are difficult. Production is unhealthy, many dangerous factors, constant heat. It's only good when you relax in the rest room, on your legal break. There are three in total. Two for 15 and one for 30 minutes. 6. What do you like most about your job? I like the molten metal and the manufacturing process itself. I like the environment and the attitude of the staff. It is also good that after 10 years of work you can retire on a hot grid. 7. What do you dislike most about your job? I don't like it when a car or an oven breaks down, because I get paid for the number of poured parts. It is also especially hot in summer. 8. If it's not a secret, what is your salary level (is it enough to write whether you are satisfied or not)? If you are not lazy and have high qualifications, which allows you to manufacture the most complex and expensive parts, then the salary is very, very good. 9. Describe your team, what kind of people work with you? Only very brave and cheerful people can work in such a difficult but interesting job, who will always help if something does not work out, even to the detriment of their own pockets. 10. What human qualities do you think are most important in your business? In our profession, the main thing is attention, compliance with safety regulations. And of course, courage, endurance and love for your work. 11. Work gives me additional opportunities (everything that work gives you except money, from self-expression and communication with interesting people to the opportunity to visit different countries). After you have worked as a foundry worker, any other job will seem very easy to you and evenboring. You will also learn a lot of interesting things about how parts of cars, aircraft, etc. are made. It is very nice to know that a part made by your hands is on thousands of cars or planes. 12. Do you have the opportunity to evaluate your work on a five-point scale, what grade would you give? I would give it a rating of 4. But this is only because many people find the work of a caster simply unbearable. 13. Why did you choose this job? I chose this job because it is the highest paid manufacturing type in the city. In addition, there is still free time for doing homework. 14. What do you think we did not include in the plan and what else would you like to share with us? You have not included the location of this work. Indeed, in every corner of Russia, even two identical professions can differ. I worked only in the Nizhny Novgorod region, where wages are several times lower than, for example, in Yekaterinburg. I would also like to note that for women there is a similar profession plastic molder. 0
