Profession: chess teacher | Choice of profession. how to choose the right profession

1. What is the name of your profession (position)? My profession is a chess teacher. 2. What is your job and what are your responsibilities? I am a member of a children's and youth sports and chess school and teach children to play, purposefully prepare for tournaments, give private lessons ... 3. What kind of education is needed to get your position? It is difficult to say what kind of education is needed for this. After all, chess is not a specialty, not a profession… It is much more of a vocation. It's not about education, but about mindset. It is needed, definitely, mathematical. And, of course, one cannot teach without a confirmed rank in chess. 4. Describe your working day. My working day is the most usual - from eight in the morning at my school I spend three two-hour classes in a row with different groups, then I go home and, if there are those who are interested, I do tutoring. If there are no people interested, I just rest. Sometimes I read subscriptions to chess magazines to stay “in the know,” or I visit chess players I know to keep in shape, or I suggest a duel to the computer. 5. How comfortable are your working conditions (all day outside, or in the office with a cup of coffee). The working conditions are, frankly, not the best. Our school, like everything related to children's creativity, is very poorly budgeted by the state ... 6. What do you like most about your work? The best thing in my work is the ability to strain the brain, turn on the intellect and logic. Inexpressible sensations from a successfully played successful combination! 7. What do you dislike most about your job? What I don't like is the attitude of those around me. For some reason, playing chess is considered something almost shameful; in the school environment - and at all the lot of "zaucheks" ... Rarely are people today who take this seriously. Especially among children. 8. If it's not a secret, what is your salary level (is it enough to write whether you are satisfied or not)? The level of payment is low, even taking into account tutoring. But money is not the main thing when work is a pleasure! 9. Describe your team, what kind of people work with you? I'm the only chess player in our club, so it's hard to talk about the team. My work team is children! And children - they are children... Although the smartest people play chess, the most intelligent ones usually play. 10. What human qualities do you think are most important in your business? The most important thing in my work is the ability to think logically, build chains of reasoning, analyze and calculate! Without it, nowhere. Well, calmness is also important, restraint. There is no place for gambling in chess. 11. Work gives me additional opportunities (everything that work gives you except money, from self-expression and communication with interesting people to the opportunity to visit different countries). My work gives me, perhaps, like Sherlock Holmes - "exercises for the mind" ... 12. Do you have the opportunity to rate your work on a five-point scale, what grade would you put? If I were to evaluate my work, I would put "4". Still, the material side makes itself feltto know… 13. Why did you choose this job? And I chose this job for myself, because from the very childhood I passionately and sincerely loved chess. And when I had the opportunity to combine the useful with the pleasant, I took advantage of it right away! And so far I have never regretted it. 0
