I am a bridal director | Choice of profession. how to choose the right profession

1. What is the name of your profession? My position is called "director of the wedding salon." 2. What is your job and what are your responsibilities? My job is to organize and manage the activities, the successful operation of the wedding salon. My responsibilities include working with suppliers, purchasing products, developing and implementing an advertising company: working with the media, design contractors, printing; organizing the work of personnel, maintaining and compiling financial statements for the founders and inspection bodies, developing measures to increase the level of sales (promotions, special offers, gifts), resolving conflicts and disputes, sales. 3. What education is required to get your position? In my opinion, a specific education is not needed to work in this position. I have an economic education, but deep economic knowledge is not required. Probably, the most important thing is to be proactive, hard-working, intelligent, quick learner who loves people. The last one is one of the most important. 4. Describe your working day. My working day starts later than usual: the salon opens at 11.00. An hour before the opening, I arrive at work, monitor the cleaning of the premises, the neat appearance of the goods offered - wedding dresses, veils, accessories. Then I open a store and do current business: one day it is completely dedicated to one bride and her dress (waiting for a meeting, trying on, discussing the improvement of the outfit, transporting the dress to the seamstress, selecting and purchasing small accessories for the dress), another day - summing up sales results of the week, month (advertising efficiency analysis, employee performance analysis, competitor analysis), and the third day is also doing nothing.. ;))) Drinking coffee, discussing the weather and personal matters while waiting for brides.. ;)) Are your working conditions comfortable? Working conditions are very, very comfortable. A beautiful, elegant, smelling store, a small office, coffee, tea, cookies and everything else is attached.. ;)) 6. What do you like most about your business? Most of all, I like to help girls find the one and only, "their" dress. After all, a wedding is one of the most important days in a girl’s life. And the outfit for such a day is looked for for a very long time and very carefully. And when, with your help, one of the dresses finds its happy owner, when the bride's eyes light up with joy, when she turns from just a girl into a princess in just a couple of minutes - this is an incredible pleasure and thrill. At such a moment, you realize that it is not in vain that you invest your strength, and sometimes your soul, into work. 7. What do you dislike most about your job? Interesting, but not like about the same. Working with people is working with people. Sometimes among the happy brides there are just “people” who can be rude, scandalous, insult, show their “I” in front of the sellers simply because they are, or because they are pregnant, or for many other reasons. Brides are very demanding and capricious clients.they need to be able to communicate, find a common language. 8. If it's not a secret, what is your salary level (is it enough to write whether you are satisfied or not)? Basically satisfied. But there is room for improvement. I'm just working on this.. 9. Describe your team, what kind of people work with you? We have a purely female, small team. In general, we get along and communicate well, because we work as one team. But it can't do without quarrels either.. ;)) 10. What human qualities, in your opinion, are the most important in your business? Love for people in general, patience, tact, ability to listen and speak, sense of style, fashion. 11. Work gives me additional opportunities (everything that work gives you except money, from self-expression and communication with interesting people to the opportunity to visit different countries). The work gives me a constant sense of celebration, on the eve of an important good event, with some brides I experience their wedding as my own, most often it is communication with positive, really happy people. 12. Do you have the opportunity to evaluate your work on a five-point scale, what grade would you give? 4+ — there is room for improvement 13. Why did you choose this job? I have always been drawn to the event industry. Probably because it’s good when work is a holiday, although not always yours ..;)) I also like active, interesting and unpredictable work, because you don’t know what the coming day has in store for you: meetings with what people, what emotions, what kind of work. It's very interesting and really exciting. 14. What do you think we did not include in the plan and what else would you like to share with us? I would probably like to add that, on the other hand, the work requires great psychological endurance and preparation. Therefore, many are attracted by the romance of weddings and everything connected with them, but in general, it is still a job with its own charms and shortcomings. 0
