Occupation Delivery and distribution agent (local newspaper) | Choice of profession. how to choose the right profession

1. What is the name of your profession (position)? I am a delivery and distribution agent for the local newspaper. 2. What is your job and what are your responsibilities? What I do is similar to the profession of a postman, but still, these are two different things. The postman delivers letters, telegrams, various printed publications, etc. And my job is to deliver a single newspaper to a subscriber and, if possible, attract new customers. 3. What education is required to get your position? My profession does not require any education - it is enough to be able to conduct the right dialogue with the client, to count well, to be honest, persistent and purposeful. 4. Describe your working day. I only work 3 times a week for 5-6 hours. Sometimes more, depending on the flow of customers who want to subscribe to the publication of the editorial office that I represent. My working day starts when it is convenient for me. No one controls me, I have complete freedom of action. The main thing is to deliver 370 copies of the newspaper to the addresses on time. The length of my section is 25.5 kilometers. 5. How comfortable are your working conditions (all day outside, or in the office with a cup of coffee)? Of course, you have to work outside in any weather. In summer it is especially hard, but in winter it is not easier. But such "training" for the body is very useful. After all, it's a matter of habit. 6. What do you like most about your job? Most of all I like the lack of control from the authorities, as well as the fact that the time to complete the work depends on me. 7. What do you dislike most about your job? Sometimes you have to deal with, to put it mildly, insane people. And my profession is not entirely safe: there are a lot of stray dogs on the streets, and even yard dogs sometimes strive to bite. 8. If it's not a secret, what is your salary level (is it enough to write whether you are satisfied or not)? When working several hours 3 days a week, a salary of 7.5-8 thousand rubles for my small town is quite good. It suits me, but I would not refuse a promotion. 9. Describe your team, what kind of people work with you? I deliver newspapers by myself. But in general, the editorial team is diverse. Personally, I have to deal with sympathetic people - the head of the delivery service and his assistants. 10. What human qualities do you think are most important in your business? Friendliness, understanding, the ability to listen to a person, responsibility, honesty - without these qualities, you will not work as a delivery agent for a long time. 11. Work gives me additional opportunities (everything that work gives you except money, from self-expression and communication with interesting people to the opportunity to visit different countries). Work allows you to keep abreast of all city events and news, and communication with people, of course, brings a lot of interesting things. 12. Do you have the opportunity to evaluate your work on a five-point scale, what grade would you give? I would rate my work as a 4. 1 point removed for difficult working conditions. 13. Why did you choose thatwhat job? I started working as a newspaper delivery agent 3 years ago by chance - they offered to replace a person for a couple of weeks, and then they didn’t let me go. However, I also liked to represent the most popular print media in the city. 14. What are the opportunities for your career development? Career growth is possible. You can get a position as a delivery manager or get a job in the computer layout department. Another question is whether additional responsibilities with constant supervision of the head are needed. I don't need it - I love my job! 15. What do you think we did not include in the plan and what else would you like to share with us? Perhaps, there is not enough point about work plans for the chosen profession. On my own behalf, I’ll add that I plan to work as a delivery agent for at least a couple more years, and then we’ll see. 0
