Advertising Specialist, Advertising Manager | Choice of profession. how to choose the right profession

1. What is the name of your profession (position)? For the past few years I have been working as an advertising specialist in a large company that deals with periodicals (newspapers, magazines). 2. What is your job and what are your responsibilities? My work is very exciting and creative in many ways. The main task is to form a positive image of the company and its products on the market. I develop media plans for placing commercials on television and radio, and also participate in the process of creating these commercials by writing technical specifications. I provide participation of the company in exhibitions, holding presentations and promotional events. After the events, I cover them on the company's website, as well as in periodicals. I do an analysis of each event to provide to the head of the department. Separately, I would like to single out the development and implementation of promotional games and public competitions for end users and retail chains. We hold a large number of competitions and events, so a significant part of my working time is spent on providing the company with souvenirs and promotional materials. This work requires contact with designers, printing houses, suppliers of souvenirs. I am involved in the development of products from the annual calendar and key chains for young readers to business gifts for business partners. 3. What education is required to get your position? I am a marketing economist by training. Periodically attend trainings on advertising to keep up with the times. For example, training on contextual advertising on the Internet. 4. Describe your working day. I do not have a fixed work schedule from 9-00 to 18-00. My working day largely depends on events that are either already taking place or are underway. Therefore, my working day can begin, for example, at 8:00 in the printing house, where the next booklet for the exhibition is printed, and end at 21:00 in the exhibition pavilion with the installation of exhibition structures. I often work on Saturdays and Sundays. But then I try to take a day off on a weekday. 5. How comfortable are your working conditions (all day outside, or in the office with a cup of coffee)? Conditions are different every day. It happens that the whole day traveling and coffee where necessary, and sometimes a day in an office chair. I don't even know which is better. I like that at work I don't have gray monotonous days. 6. What do you like most about your business? I like communication with a lot of people. I like the reaction of people to the results of my work. 7. What do you dislike most about your job? I don't like writing reports. 8. If it's not a secret, what is your salary level (is it enough to write whether you are satisfied or not)? I would like more. And that's okay. You should always strive for excellence in both work and pay. Although even now, in addition to my salary, they pay for gasoline and medical insurance. 9. Describe your team, what kind of people work with you? Our team is young and active. From time to time we carry out activities to strengthen corporateactive spirit. Staff turnover is minimal. But new people are coming. We are developing. 10. What human qualities do you think are most important in your business? Mobility, activity, creative flair. 11. Work gives me additional opportunities (everything that work gives you except money, from self-expression and communication with interesting people to the opportunity to visit different countries). Thanks to my work, I have a very wide social circle. I am always aware of all the bright events that take place in our country, and often participate in them. 12. Do you have the opportunity to evaluate your work on a five-point scale, what grade would you give? For now, I'll give you four. Five will be when I grow up to the head of the advertising department. 13. Why did you choose this job? I was always active in school. But I decided that just a creative profession will not always provide financially. I chose to combine creativity and economics. 14. What are the opportunities for your career growth? Head of Advertising Department. 15. What do you think we did not include in the plan and what else would you like to share with us? You could separately ask to list the list of positions that you can apply for with experience in the above work. For example, I can work as a media planner, organizer of exhibitions / fairs, a specialist in the sale of souvenirs. 0
