Occupation: Shooting instructor | Choice of profession. how to choose the right profession

1. What is the name of your profession (position)? ... Sports shooting instructor. 2. What is your job and what are your responsibilities? I work at a shooting range, I give private shooting lessons to everyone. We shoot from sports - pneumatic and gas-balloon - pistols. Someone is preparing for competitions, someone is learning to shoot “for the soul” ... I train everyone. For those who wish, I can give separate lectures on the theory of weapons, their history, varieties, principles of work ... 3. What education is needed to get your position? You may not have any direct education at all. Sufficiently appropriate sports category. It's essentially a sport. Here everything is decided not by a set of knowledge, but by aspiration, energy, work on oneself. 4. Describe your working day. I don't have public groups. I work individually, at an individually agreed time. On average, it comes out five times a week, every day - two to three two-hour classes. As a rule, almost all of them are already experienced shooters, it’s just “working out”, “shooting”. But sometimes beginners come - then it's more interesting. Work begins not in the shooting gallery, but in the office, in front of drawings and diagrams, at a table with dismantled pistols. After a working day, I usually just go home. 5. How comfortable are your working conditions (all day outside, or in the office with a cup of coffee)? High-quality, well-equipped, comfortable shooting range. Quality targets, constantly updated equipment. Pistols and sports, and gas-cylinder "amateur" of a wide variety of types ... A separate room for studying theory and materiel. There is also a shower and a dining area. Good conditions, nothing to complain about. 6. What do you like most about your job? Weapon. The smell of grease, steel ... The process of shooting, hitting the target. I just really love weapons. Also, the process of preparation. It's great to see how your hands gradually stop trembling, your breathing evens out, how the bullets fit beautifully into the "top ten" ... 7. What do you dislike most about your job? You can go deaf from constant shots ... Even with headphones. Over time you get used to it, of course. But still, there is nothing particularly pleasant here. 8. If it's not a secret, what is your salary level (is it enough to write whether you are satisfied or not)? Quite sufficient ... We have a good shooting range, qualified personnel, and therefore the payment is high. 9. Describe your team, what kind of people work with you? A few more instructors... Same as myself. Lovers of weapons and shooting. Nice people, nice and easy to work with. You can always agree on a replacement, for example. 10. What human qualities do you think are most important in your business? Calmness, endurance, healthy nerves and easy breathing. The constant roar presses on your ears, and you can’t really shoot with trembling hands ... Another thing is the desire and ability to work on yourself, to achieve your goals. Such calm stubbornness should be… 11. Work gives me additional opportunities… Participation in competitions, the opportunity to win and prepare winners. Also, the ability to communicate with weapons. Who ishe loves - he will understand. 12. Do you have the opportunity to evaluate your work on a five-point scale, what grade would you give? Five. Definitely. I love my work very much. 13. Why did you choose this job? Since childhood, I dreamed of dealing with weapons ... For me it was something more than playing war games, like other guys. I could sit for hours at the shooting range, just watch when the money ran out. Or spend all the finances on some kind of encyclopedia of weapons ... At one time I preferred sports, not the army. That's all. 14. What do you think we did not include in the plan and what else would you like to share with us? Perhaps a question like “what would you advise people who want to choose such a profession?”. I would advise them, on the one hand, not to abandon their main studies or work for the sake of sports and shooting, because a few really manage to achieve something in shooting, for the rest it remains just a hobby. On the other hand, train constantly, as soon as the opportunity arises. Visiting the shooting gallery three times a week is not enough, you need to work here, and a lot and with pleasure. 0
