Profession - logistician | Choice of profession. how to choose the right profession

1. What is the name of your profession (position)? My position is a logistics manager in the sales department at a large enterprise for the production and sale of hydraulic tools. 2. What is your job and what are your responsibilities? I supervise the sales departments assigned to me, of which there are six in our company. Of these, I am responsible for three, in each department there are three or four sales managers. After receiving an application for a tool, managers create a specification in the 1C database, my task is to set deadlines for the entire list of products indicated in it. To do this, I check the availability of the tool in the warehouse, if not, coordinate the production time with the planning and dispatching department and the delivery time of the purchased tool with the purchasing department, check the production and purchase plan in case of expected receipt. Further, after confirming the specification, the manager issues an order for shipment. Here I have to choose the best delivery method for our company and the client, which will suit both parties, if it is not separately specified in the delivery contract, and make sure that the warehouse workers and forwarders make the shipment in exactly the way that I indicated. After the shipment, I control the correctness of the place of payment and track the cargo along its entire route, notifying the manager of all changes in a timely manner so that he correctly informs the client. And finally, I hand over the shipping documents received from the warehouse to the accounting department. 3. What education is required to get your position? Higher profile, I graduated from the Faculty of Commerce and Logistics, a specialist in trade. 4. Describe your working day. My working day starts in the morning at 9:00, ends at 18:00, lunch 12:00-13:00. Sometimes, if there is a lot of work, you have to stay late, it happens that at lunchtime customers come for self-delivery, they need to be served - taken to the warehouse, control the issuance of products and related documentation. The main work begins in the afternoon, when Moscow and other cities wake up, the time zone of which does not coincide with ours. 5. How comfortable are your working conditions (all day outside, or in the office with a cup of coffee)? Rather, the whole day in the office with a cup of coffee. But at the same time, it often becomes necessary to visit the warehouse and production, as well as to run to other departments, the directorate, on various issues. Thus, sedentary work can be called a stretch. 6. What do you like most about your job? I like dynamism, even some kind of drive. Due to the high pace of work and constant changes in the professional field, it is simply impossible to get bored. In addition, at my work there is just an excellent team, mostly boys and girls under 30 years old. 7. What do you dislike most about your job? The attitude of other departments towards mine, their desire to shift their responsibilities onto our shoulders. 8. If it's not a secret, what is your salary level (is it enough to write whether you are satisfied or not)? Not satisfied, but I'm working on improving it. Joined the company aftertitle. No one seeks to pay a lot to a young specialist, but I have been working for several years, after certification I am a specialist of the 1st category (was the 2nd), the only one in the department. In the near future I expect to get a position of a leading specialist. 9. Describe your team, what kind of people work with you? There are currently two logisticians and a head in the department, two people have been laid off due to the crisis. All female, I am the youngest. The team is friendly and open. 10. What human qualities do you think are most important in your business? Responsibility, accuracy, mobility, ability to insist on one's own, sociability, stress resistance. 11. Work gives me additional opportunities (everything that work gives you except money, from self-expression and communication with interesting people to the opportunity to visit different countries). Opportunity to improve your professional level - the company has an excellent library with professional literature, the development of personal relationships with carrier companies. 12. Do you have the opportunity to evaluate your work on a five-point scale, what grade would you give? 5+. During the vacation periods of the head of the department, I am acting in his duties, and for the first time I was entrusted with this after six months of work. 13. Why did you choose this job? I found it interesting and was not mistaken in my assumptions! 14. What do you think we did not include in the plan and what else would you like to share with us? I would like to note that what I do is far from everything that a logistician can do. Each individual enterprise has its own specifics, a logistician can deal with sales, purchases, optimization of warehouse work, transportation of goods, information flows. My profession provides a very wide area for self-realization and work for every taste. 0
