Occupation Promoter-merchandiser | Choice of profession. how to choose the right profession

1. What is the name of your profession (position)? My profession (position) is called a promoter-merchandiser. My job is to, with my help, in the performance of the following duties, create a demand for products (in my case, these are alcoholic products), expand the product sales market, inform consumers of this product about its quality and superiority over other products in this category, and so on. 2. What is your job and what are your responsibilities? As a merchandiser, I have the following responsibilities: 1) product display (correct product placement encourages the buyer to purchase the product) 2) placement of promotional products above or near the product to inform customers about the availability of this product (shelf stockers, posters, stickers) 3) agree with the store management , a supermarket, a stall or other places where the goods are located, on the acquisition of central (best) shelves to place the goods in the most passable places by the buyer. 4) frequent visits to the points (places) where the goods are located, to check and edit the correct placement of the goods. Working as a promoter, I need to perform the following duties: 1) is on the trading floor, right next to the product that I represent (in my case, it is vodka, wine and low-alcohol drinks) 2) actively advise customers, giving them the necessary information about my product, about all kinds of the pros of this product, about promotions (if any) in order to unobtrusively convince the consumer to purchase this product. 3. Describe your work day. I have many responsibilities and my working day is spent on them. I work as a promoter for 3-4 hours a day from Monday to Friday, and the rest of the time I do the work of a merchandiser, also from Monday to Friday. My working day begins with the arrival at the workplace, where I continue to perform my duties, which I described above. 4. How comfortable are your working conditions (all day outside, or in the office with a cup of coffee)? My work is comfortable because I am in warm and cozy shops, supermarkets, where I can buy a cup of coffee or tea, go for lunch or have a snack in the store itself. The position (profession) of a merchandiser-promoter is relatively young and not yet as popular as many other professions, but over time, I believe, it will take not the last place among other positions. 5 What do you like most about your job? I like my work because I constantly communicate with people, give and receive information, gain new experience and skills that may be useful in the future. 6 What do you dislike most about your job? There are practically no cons in my work, probably these are harmful buyers who do not understand why merchandisers and promoters are needed at all. 7. Describe your team, what kind of people work with you? I work with wonderful people who are sympathetic to what I do, for which I am very grateful to them, these are sellers and consultants, other store employees, as well as all shoppers. 8. What human qualities, in your opinion, are most important in your business? Sociability, inspiration and calmness, you need to learn to find a common language with everyone, find the right approach to each person and convince him to purchase goods. 9. What education is required to get your position? In order to work as a merchandiser or promoter, you don’t need a higher education (I have a specialized secondary education), you need 2 factors: sociability and a desire to work. 10. If it's not a secret, what is your salary level (is it enough to write whether you are satisfied or not)? My salary depends only on me, I'll tell you honestly, it suits me quite well. 11. Do you have the opportunity to evaluate your work on a five-point scale, what grade would you give? And if they asked me what rating I would give my work, then I would rate it 5, even because working as a merchandiser-promoter, I can grow further, climb the career ladder and I know for sure that this knowledge will definitely be useful to me in life. 12. Work gives me additional opportunities (here is everything that work gives you except money, from self-expression and communication with interesting people to the opportunity to visit different countries). My work gives me, besides money, interesting communication with new people, experience with various types of goods and advertising. 13. What do you think we did not include in the plan and what else would you like to share with us? I want to add that as they say: "All professions are needed, all professions are important" 0
