Profession counselor | Choice of profession. how to choose the right profession

1. What is the name of your profession (position)? This work is very popular among the institute youth. Every 5th student at least once worked in children's camps as a Counselor. And I am no exception. Personally, I worked in camps at sea. This, of course, is much cooler than the gray suburbs. 2. What is your job and what are your responsibilities? My job is as follows: round-the-clock work and living with children; interaction with the teaching staff; preparation of entertainment mass events for children; animation work; organization of comfortable children's recreation, leisure, observance of the daily routine. 3. What education is required to get your position? Pedagogical or psychological education is preferable, but in my practice, even people from technical universities work as Counselors. 4. Describe your working day. My working day starts at 7.30 am with the rise of my squad, we get ready and run to the sports field for exercises, then we enjoy a light breakfast, and go to the sea, sunbathe, swim and play sports. Then a hearty lunch and a quiet hour. Every day in the camp is held under the auspices of a theme. After an afternoon snack, we gather in a detachment and begin to prepare our evening performance. We allocate roles, and everyone does their own thing: someone prepares the scenery, others write the text, others come up with a script, others rehearse their roles. At the end of the day, after dinner, each squad performs a performance on the theme of the day on the camp stage. And, of course, what is an evening without a disco with the incendiary music of a DJ. At 23.15 the camp falls asleep, and the counselors' working day continues with a planning meeting and preparation for the next day. By 3 o'clock in the morning, in a good scenario, the entire camp is covered with complete silence. 5. How comfortable are your working conditions (all day outside, or in the office with a cup of coffee)? Working conditions take place around the clock in the open air on an area of about 9 hectares, you can run great during the day, only occasionally you manage to get into the room, and then not for long. Literally for 5 hours in order to cover your eyes and kiss the pillow. 6. What do you like most about your job? What I like the most is that the camp is very successful in combining life and work. Because life is completely turned into work. 7. What do you dislike most about your job? Most of all, I do not like to bathe a squad of 30 people, broken down by 10 people. every 10 minutes... 8. If it's not a secret, what is your salary level (is it enough to write whether you are satisfied or not)? The level of salary in this business is not the main thing, the main thing is that for three months every day, twice a day, you see the SEA. And, of course, a lot of positive from communicating with children. 9. Describe your team, what kind of people work with you? Great people work with me, who after a week of stay in the camp become part of your big family. 10. What human qualities do you think are most important in your business? openness, kindness, character, feelinghumor, sensitivity, responsiveness, willpower (try to sleep 4-5 hours a day), the ability to communicate with children, good organizational skills, moderate rigor, creativity. 11. Work gives me additional opportunities (everything that work gives you except money, from self-expression and communication with interesting people to the opportunity to visit different countries). Due to the fact that, as already mentioned above, my work does not bring me much income, any smallest detail brings pleasure: enjoying the sea, tanning from the sun, communicating with children and friends (colleagues), having 2 days off for month. 12. Do you have the opportunity to evaluate your work on a five-point scale, what grade would you give? Of course, five, one can only dream of such work, I believe that this is an excellent school of life for young people, and if you have such an opportunity, you must definitely go through “This” (the work of the Leaders). 13. Why did you choose this job? Everything is very simple, when I was studying at the university, they offered to work at sea with children, without paying anything for it, and receiving a small reward. I could not refuse, and in no case do not regret it. For 5 years in a row, summer was provided with sun and sea. 14. What do you think we did not include in the plan and what else would you like to share with us? You did not include in the plan the question in which city you work. For example, it is hardly possible to meet a milkmaid in Moscow, although…. Personally, I worked in different cities of Anapa, Tuapse, Novorossiysk (I live in Moscow). 0
