Line agency manager is my profession | Choice of profession. how to choose the right profession

1. What is the name of your profession (position)? I work as a freight forwarding manager and hold the position of head of the linear agency department. 2. What is your job and what are your responsibilities? The essence of my work is to ensure the coordination of goods delivered from one destination to another, usually a container, going to Odessa. I provide the so-called "to the door" service, which makes me responsible for tracking the container, both before loading onto the ship and while it is on board the ship until it is accepted at the port of destination. Since, in order to transport goods, you must first find a customer to whom you need to deliver the goods, then finding customers is my main responsibility. Depending on the destination of the cargo, I search for road or rail carriers. Also, I work with insurance companies, as the cargo must be insured against any surprises before being loaded onto the ship. 3. What education is required to get your position? Naturally, for the professional performance of such duties, it is necessary to graduate from a transport institute with a degree in transport logistics, which I did. 4. Describe your working day. Since I am an ordinary office worker, my day starts at 9 am and ends at 6 pm. But in fact, in fact, it is not standardized, since at any time either the customer can call with a question, or the carrier can report problems with the delivery of goods. 5. How comfortable are your working conditions (all day outside, or in the office with a cup of coffee)? I work all day long in a well-appointed office, in a separate office - therefore, it’s a sin to complain about fate 6. What do you like most about your job? The feeling and understanding that the business of many people depends on me, as often the cargo delivered not on time entails losses for the customer. I like the opportunity to assess the situation and make decisions. 7. What do you dislike most about your job? Of course, it strains the responsibility that I fully bear to the customer for the delivery of the goods. Also, constant calls at any time of the day or night are very disturbing. 8. If it's not a secret, what is your salary level (is it enough to write whether you are satisfied or not)? I think that I have already achieved a lot in this regard. Although - there is no limit to perfection. 9. Describe your team, what kind of people work with you? A team of like-minded people works with me, even if there are not many of us, but we are friendly and everyone can always come to the aid of another and help in problem situations. 10. What human qualities do you think are most important in your business? Composure, responsibility, ability to quickly make the right decision and assess the situation. Of course, communication skills are also necessary, since you have to communicate with different people all day long. 11. Work gives me additional opportunities (everything that work gives you except money, from self-expression and communication with interesting people to the opportunity to visit variouscountries). Thanks to my work, I seemed to have visited different parts of the globe, where I ship the goods. This includes Syria, Canada, Israel, Cyprus, Greece and many other countries. Also, I had to learn English to communicate with customers and operators of shipping lines, as well as for business correspondence, which I consider a definite plus. 12. Do you have the opportunity to evaluate your work on a five-point scale, what grade would you give? I rate my work on a solid 5 - it is very interesting and promising. 13. Why did you choose this job? It just happened in my life. 14. What do you think we did not include in the plan and what else would you like to share with us? Although my position is called boring, in fact, my work is very creative, connected with constant communication with people, you feel like you are always on the move - and I really like it. 0
