1. What is the name of your profession (position)? Chief referee (in the game of paintball). 2. What is your job and what are your responsibilities? Issuing markers, filling out some paperwork, conducting briefings and, most importantly, monitoring compliance with the rules of the game. 3. What education is required to get your position? Education is not required here, the main thing is that you know the rules, instructions and the device of the available markers (I learned all this information while I was just a judge). 4. Describe your working day. So players come to us, you give them markers and masks, fill out the relevant documents and make sure that the players put their paintings in the right places. Now let's go to the field, there is a place called "out-zone" where we conduct briefings, fill the marker with oxygen and cartridges. Now the game starts, you give the order to the judges that they take their places to review the entire field (as a rule, you have at your disposal from 1 to 3 judges, depending on the number of players). Now, if the rules are not followed, they will give you a certain sign, and you can either stop the game or remove the player who decided that he was smarter than everyone else or simply did not notice the hit. They also turn to the referees during the game, if something happened to the equipment, and we help with this. After the game, you take the equipment back and check its integrity, and then the judges wash and clean it, if, of course, their hands grow out of the wrong place, then you can show how it is done correctly. 5. How comfortable are your working conditions (all day outside, or in the office with a cup of coffee)? The conditions are quite comfortable: the air is fresh, during the break between games you can lie on the bed in the armory, listen to music. 6. What do you like most about your job? Working with weapons, albeit a toy one, and power, albeit small, is very pleasant! 7. What do you dislike most about your job? You get tired here, too, not bad, and when you get (accidentally) it's not very pleasant, but it happens often. 8. If it's not a secret, what is your salary level (is it enough to write whether you are satisfied or not)? Salary is not bad - hourly pay for the game + salary. 9. Describe your team, what kind of people work with you? We had a lot of people working for us: the judges are always a cheerful company, the managers are also interesting guys, the girls who called the players, in general, the team is excellent, well-coordinated. 10. What human qualities do you think are most important in your business? In our business, the main thing is to be attentive and fast. 11. Work gives me additional opportunities (everything that work gives you except money, from self-expression and communication with interesting people to the opportunity to visit different countries). When a team of professional players gathers for tournaments in other cities, they, of course, take the judges they know with them, and even when people come to us to play, they often invite you to relax with them after the game, and you will learn more and more interesting of people. 12. If you evaluate on a five-point scale, I would put 4, because for me the ideal job is when you don’t do anything, and the money drips. 13. Why did you choose this job? Once a friend suggested that I try to work with him as a judge and I liked it. 14. What do you think we did not include in the plan and what else would you like to share with us? What is the danger in your profession? If you follow all the rules, then the danger is minimal. Although there was such a case when one of the judges was hit in the ear from the back of the mask, since the judges have a slightly different uniform and we did not have hoods, the ear was badly damaged and there was a lot of blood. 0
