In the modern economy, it is very important to correctly plan the volume of costs for the production of products in order to obtain the greatest profit during its implementation. Each production has its own specifics. To work in the mining industry, it is necessary, in addition to economic knowledge, to have an idea about the production technology, types and features of equipment, and forms of remuneration. 2. What is your job and what are your responsibilities? My job is to plan raw materials for the production of sinter and concentrate, calculate the equipment utilization factor (OIF), analyze the impact of planned and unscheduled downtime on the operation of machines and mechanisms, plan costs by cost items, analyze them and reduce them. Since I work as a Lead Economist (in a management position), I have an Economist under my supervision who does all the support work. 3. What education is required to get your position? In order to work as an economist, you need a higher education, preferably in universities specializing in the mining industry, where, in addition to general economic knowledge, you will get an idea of ​​​​production technology. If there is no opportunity to study at the full-time department, you can get this specialty in absentia. 4. Describe your working day. The working day begins with a meeting with the head and drawing up a plan for the day. You then need to view a summary of production and unplanned downtime. During the day, you have to make a lot of important calls, calculate countless planned (or reporting) indicators, and fulfill management tasks. 5. How comfortable are your working conditions (all day outside, or in the office with a cup of coffee)? The work is purely office work, an eight-hour working day with a five-day working week. This has its pluses and minuses: a sedentary lifestyle. Therefore, after work, I try to go in for sports - it is simply vital! 6. What do you like most about your job? Most of all I like to carry out calculations, analyze and find original solutions to complex problems. I like communication with smart, knowledgeable people. 7. What do you dislike most about your job? Working with people is a double-edged sword: sometimes there are misunderstandings or disagreements that are very frustrating. 8. If it's not a secret, what is your salary level (is it enough to write whether you are satisfied or not)? The level of salary suits me, for our region it is considered high. 9. Describe your team, what kind of people work with you? A friendly team works with me. They are very smart, gifted in their own way, educated, intelligent people. It is a pleasure to work and relax with them. 10. What human qualities do you think are most important in your business? It is very important for my work to be able to communicate with people in person and by phone, to be able to ask the right questions and answer them. In addition, purely professional qualities are needed.: efficiency, initiative, resourcefulness, the ability to control the situation, the ability to defend one's opinion. 11. Work gives me additional opportunities (everything that work gives you except money, from self-expression and communication with interesting people to the opportunity to visit different countries). Besides the fact that I earn good money, my work gives me the opportunity to improve my intellectual level and communicate in the company of pleasant and interesting people. 12. Do you have the opportunity to evaluate your work on a five-point scale, what grade would you give? I rate my work 5? with a “minus”, because I would like to work in an international company. 13. Why did you choose this job? I chose the job completely unconsciously - there was a small competition at the university. But, having started working in my specialty, I realized that this is exactly what I need. 14. What are the opportunities for your career development? Within the framework of our enterprise, one can become a bureau chief or a department head, top flight - a deputy director for economics. And with the work experience gained at our company, you can work “for yourself” as an independent economic consultant. 15. What do you think we did not include in the plan and what else would you like to share with us? I would add the question “Would you like your children to work in this specialty?”. My answer: only if you have analytical skills, patience and perseverance. Otherwise, the work will simply be boring, and there will be no opportunity to achieve good results. 0
